Safe Place by E.M. Tippetts

Safe place.  Seeing the title again has just reminded me of how fitting it is for the book. Lizzie and  Devon are a normal couple. She’s a celebrity and he’s a physical trainer.  They have history, a painful one. Probably not what you’re thinking, but history nonetheless.
Their story for me is strange. Maybe because I wasn’t expecting the story to be that.
I think Lizzie is too young and immature for Devon. She too sweet and alone. At times, I even felt Devon wasn’t worth all the trouble. Their relationship kept stopping and starting.  It was weird for me. They fell in love too quickly in my opinion but…
I sincerely don’t know how I really feel about this book. It made me cry several times, yet_
Their history made me cry and lizzie made me cry. I felt something was missing,  maybe that’s why I have mixed feelings about the book. I like it very much, some of the lines really stayed with me but… Lizzie was too young and their relationship was off balance.
That’s the word; off balance.  Something kept plaguing me about their relationship,  it is never balanced.  Nothing was equal at the same time or at the right time.
Nonetheless,  I still liked it very much. A novel that makes me feel something is definitely good, so I’d give it 3 stars.  Good, definitely, but it could be better.
