The Messiah of Harvard Square

The Messiah of Harvard Square

Lonesome and weather-beaten
Four feet planted down
Lovers would congregate
Weary travelers would invigorate

A relieved sigh here and there
A heavy weight to rejuvenate
Lovers would congregate
Weary travelers would invigorate

Grand and certain it stayed
A wide abode to accommodate
Lovers would congregate
Weary travelers would invigorate

A majesty to be discovered
For a while a home to appreciate
Lovers would congregate
Weary travelers would invigorate

Flat, Wide, and benevolent
Home to pilgrims and much truth
A bench they sometimes called it
The Messiah of Harvard Square
